Today on the podcast, host Jane gets a first-hand account from contributor Hannah Krieg on this weekend’s Laurelhurst protest. While the protest was being planned, Seattle Children’s Hospital announced they’re asking the city for approval to remove the Medical Review Committee for helicopter landings. Jane dives into this change and then breaks down the latest challenge to the millionaires tax through a new ballot initiative. Plus, she explains the growing efforts to overturn same-sex marriage spearheaded by a Seattle woman. And finally, Jane, Hannah, and contributor Brett Hamil get into the good news for the week, including a sip and stroll around Pike Place, a free shuttle service connecting downtown and Seattle Center, and UW library workers narrowly avoiding a strike.
