Sweet Mickey’s
🍭 Sweet Mickey’s is a proudly, self-consciously retro candy shop on Ballard Avenue. It’s got some upscale treats like truffles, but what makes them really impressive is the huge selection of gummies on display. If you’re not sure what something is, don’t be afraid to ask for a free sample.
Know before you go: What’s that smell when you walk in? It’s roasted nuts, a rarity in Seattle for some reason.
The Confectionery
🍫 The Confectionery, the oldest store in University Village, calls itself an “upscale candy boutique.” Don’t expect to find many brand names here — it mostly sells chocolates and other goodies in bulk or in chic little bags. If you want your candy selection to inspire envy, go here.
Know before you go: Plenty of seasonal treats are available here, including some rather realistic gummy eyeballs.
Sweetie’s Candy
🍬 If your kid needs a treat at Pike Place Market, you should head down to the Underground area and find Sweetie’s, a tiny space that is packed floor-to-ceiling with Pez, jawbreakers, and more varieties of lollipops than you knew existed. It also has a Slushie machine and popcorn.
Know before you go: It’s a fun place to grab a little candy. But if you’re looking to buy in bulk, Sweetie’s isn’t the best place due to its tiny size.
Candy Tyme
🪅 This is a chain with locations stretching down I-5 as far south as Eugene. The Westlake shop has a healthy stockpile of bulk candy, as well as an array of edible knick-knacks like little packets of Pocky and those gummy hamburger things.
Know before you go: Candy Tyme also has a pretty big selection of Beanie Babies in the back corner, if that’s your jam.
